Hancock County Animal Center

The wonderful people from Bucks and Montgomery Counties have adopted Hancock County to help us rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.  Known as the BucksMont Group, these wonderful people have already built a new Child Development Facility and several homes as well as providing other needed services.  Their most ambitious project to date will be the new Hancock County Animal Center.

The new Hancock County Animal Center will be built on land donated by the county on Texas Flat Road just off Highway 603.

This new facility will not just provide safe and secure housing for animals lost and/or awaiting adoption but will be a Center for animals and people who love them.  Educational programs will be provided for the community, activities for pets and children will be conducted and many other opportunities for the furry and non-furry members of our community to come together and work for everyone’s health and well being.

Please visit the Buckmont site for the new Hancock County Animal Center for recent updates and to buy a brick paver for the new facility.
