Friends of the Animal Shelter in Hancock County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in early 2000 by a group of concerned citizens seeking to end euthanasia as a viable means of control for the pet overpopulation in Hancock County.

Over the past 8 years, FRIENDS has grown and developed programs, events, and educational opportunities to enhance the health and well being of the animals in Hancock County.

The mission of Friends of the Animal Shelter in Hancock County is to mobilize the community to:

• Support the animal shelter(s);
• Facilitate the spay and neuter of dogs and cats, and;
• Improve the general health and welfare of the animals of Hancock County.
